A HERO'S MONOLOGUE
To celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of the Philippines' National Hero, Jose Rizal, Hans Brumann crafted a commemorative jewellery collection. The line takes inspiration from Rizal's famous novel "Noli Me Tangere."

 

 

AFTER THE MASTERS
Only a designer with a bold mind will place himself at the service of the renowned classic masters of the 20th century art: Picasso, Braque, Matisse, Gris, Miro and Kandinsky. Brumann tasks himself to bring their intent to create the illusion of tri-dimensional subjects by discovering their individual style of visual compositions and re-creating them with his unique power of jewelry design and his intimate understanding of his materials.
GARDEN GLORIES
The “kamagong” rings topped by garden blossoms in a spray of candy colors ringed by 18 carat yellow gold. Popular veggies dotted and blazing in the eternal colors of their crispness. Favorite fruits in the Philippine homeland in their undying ripeness of colors. All glowing on the beautiful human skin.
WATER WORLD
The aquatic collection—neckpieces, pendants, earrings, rings and brooches—posits a new movement of Brumann's talents: a deft mastery of lights and hues if every kind of gemstones and gold; and a self that virtually transforms the sights and wonders of a child into a youth's dream of sorts.
OUT OF THE WOODS
As an expression of oedipal love for Mother Nature, Brumann chose the Philippine hardwood called "kamagong" (black wood) as the base material of his creative collection of rings bonded inside with 18 carat yellow, white and rose gold, wrist bangles, bracelets, earrings and pendants. Center settings are various gemtones and pearls.



PINK
The choice of the pink color as the prevailing hue and design motif of the collections of Brumann stems from his attempt to transpose in material form the inner and elusive spell possessed by a woman. A woman enjoys the compliment of being in "pink" from her coo-ing figure inside the cradle, the blush on her cheeks, the purse and width of her lips up to the soft glow of her skin. Expressions that zero in on the pink color as the coefficient of a woman's beauty and her power to cast attraction.

ORO
Gold – timeless, exuberant, royal, mysterious. The sum of all imagination. The goal of all efforts of mankind. The dust that clouds the horizons of conquerors and explorers. The weight of all emotions felt ever by man. The mute witness of the upheavals in the fortune of men and women --- in love and acrimony.

These aphorisms abound in the inspirations of the cast of the gold jewelry collection designed by National Artist Arturo Luz and interpreted by the master goldsmith Hans Brumann.
