Sapphire
is the non-red variety of corundum, the second hardest natural mineral known to
mankind. Its name comes from the Greek sappheiros, which means "dark blue."
Despite its name expressing only one out of its numerous colors, the color
palette of the sapphire strikes one's imagination by its variety: blue, pink,
purple, green, yellow, orange, and pink orange.
The sapphire is considered to be the symbol of power, obedience, fidelity and
chastity. In medieval times, it was called the "Stone of Bishop" and believed
to be a stone of higher spiritual value. Apart from that, sapphires were
believed to be capable of alleviating pain, averting conflicts, and giving
eternal life to its owners. |

Spinel is a very attractive and
historically important gemstone mineral. It is a real, natural, attractive and
rare gemstone in its own right. The name may have been derived from the Greek
word which means "a spark", alluding to its fiery color.
Spinel is almost a secret among gem lovers. Its hardness of 8 makes it one of
the hardest minerals in nature. It is now a favorite of gem dealers and gem
collectors due to its brilliance, hardness and wide range of spectacular colors
including red, orange, yellow, dark green, blue, purple, pink and brown.
Spinel has these keywords attached to it: changeability, adaptability, and
duality of nature thus making it a natural Fire Element. It is associated with
having Active Projective Energy. |
